Nia's Extra-Ordinary Life

Mrs Cameron will upload a new video each time we watch an episode in class so that you can enjoy at home.  Each episode creates great discussion.  As tempting as it may be, please try not to skip ahead with episodes ;)

Nia's Extra Ordinary Life is set in the beautiful town of Tinopai, just outside of Dargaville, and tells the story of Nia's boring life.  Every day Nia sits under her plum tree and writes in her diary, recollecting the events of the day.  She narrates the characters in her world and takes us on a journey into her imagination as she tries to make her boring life a little more extraordinary.

Episode One - Stones
Nia imagines how she would stand up to a class bully in order to protect her friends.  But sometimes how  you think and how you act are two different things.

Episode Two - Castles Made of Sand

Nia spends some time reflecting on the past.  Butterflies, sandcastles and dreams.  It's often the little things that mean the most.

Episode Three - Lucas

Nia helps Lucas find a missing turtle.  Helping out a friend in need can be rewarding..... and confusing.  

Episode Four The Scrap

Nia imagines again how she would protect her friends from a different bully.  When your gut tells you to do something you better act fast.

Episode Five  The Weakest Link

Nia learns a lesson on the cricket pitch.  Bullies come in all different shapes and sizes... just like friends.

Episode Six  Artsy Fartsy
Nia reacts without thinking when stuck in a bad situation.  Everyone does dumb stuff occasionally.

Episode Seven Wonderland
Nia enjoys playing with her friends in an imaginary world.  Imaginations have the power to surprise...just like best friends.
