This is essential in Room 10.  You may find that your child's 2014 teacher has retained their dictionary to be passed straight on to me for 2015.  This should be indicated on their stationery list handed out towards the end of 2014.

Most children in Room 10 like to have a pencil case they keep all of their pens and pencils in.  Room 10 have 'old school' flip lid desks which each child is responsible for keeping organised and tidy.

Please make sure EVERYTHING is named CLEARY.

Have fun if you are brave enough to Duraseal :)

Greetings everybody,

A little bit about me.........

My Name is Lucy Cameron (Davenport) and I began teaching at Kapanui School in 2001 after graduating with a Bachelor of Eduction from Wellington College of Education.

At Kapanui School I taught in the Year 7/8 syndicate and thoroughly enjoyed the beginnings of my teaching career.  I organised the school netball, was involved with the Dance Splash, Choir and the very important Lip Sync competition that still runs there to this day.

I took a break from teaching to get married and start my family.  Lucia and Riley arrived over the few years and during that time I relieved in various schools around the Kapiti Coast.

I began teaching at Waikanae School in 2010 and have had the most wonderful experience at this awesome school.  We are so lucky here at Waikanae to have such passionate teachers and non teaching staff, supportive parents and incredible grounds for our children to enjoy.  We are always looking for new and innovative ways to ensure our learners get the best out of their education and it's exciting to see how technology is making a positive impact.

Please don't hesitate to contact me on l.cameron@waikanae.school.nz or pop in and see me.  In 2015 I have syndicate meeting commitments on Monday afternoons and staff meetings on Tuesday afternoons.

Some extra things you might see me doing around the school:

  • Coordinate the school netball.  You can find more information about what we offer on our netball blog.
  • I work with the seniors in choreographing a dance to perform at the annual Dance Splash festival.
  • Coordinating the 40 hour famine for World Vision at the school
  • Coordinating the Carols on the field each year and directing our Celebration of the Arts production every two years.
  • Working with the PTA and Whanau Support Group
